Aprons in TV shows

The apron has always been an essential part of the accessories that people wear for all kinds of purposes. They are great for the kitchen, for garden work, for painting, for sanding, etc. The number of uses for aprons and the different types of aprons available is truly outstanding. Their cultural value is so strong that it has managed to reach the entertainment industry with plenty of examples to choose from.

Aprons have been appearing on TV for a long time now and it is very common to see people wearing them in specific shows and in some cases, they are part of the iconic look of a character. The use of Aprons on television is as old as the aprons have existed, and today, we are going to be talking about the most popular situations when aprons have been used on TV.

Before we go on, we would like to mention that there are many shows that have featured aprons, but we decide to give you the ones that have the most apron air time per show.

I Love Lucy

Lucy Ricardo was probably the first famous TV character to wear an Apron almost at all times and this was one of the most popular shows of the 1950’s. Everyone remembers Lucy and her crazy antics.

There are very few shows that have been so beloved by millions of people worldwide as much as the I Love Lucy Show and her aprons are usually going to be there with her.

Two broke girls

So, after visiting the 509’s we come back into a more contemporary show that featured two young waitresses. They struggled to pay rent and to make ends meet as they wore their red aprons day after day. This made them extremely recognizable with those particular outfits. Those red aprons kind of became the brand behind the Two Broke Girls show.

If you are looking to watch a show that is going to be showing aprons 99% of the time, this is definitely the show for you.

Hell’s Kitchen

This is a TV show that was made famous by the man that is known as the counterpart of Simon Cowell in the culinary world.  Gordon Ramsey could be the meanest of people to his chefs, but one thing that was never missing on that show was an assortment of aprons for everyone.

This show is one that can make anyone feel bad for the people who are being treated so badly by Chef Ramsey, but they are all ready to take the heat like good sports, and they are all rocking some nice aprons in the process.

Dexter

While this show can be rather disturbing to some people as the “hero” or the leading guy is a serial killer. Dexter managed to capture the imagination of millions and no one will ever forget how he was always wearing a long black apron when he was about to do something bad. The twist is that he only did bad things to bad people. People are going to be seeing more of that black apron as a new season of Dexter is about to come out.
